Peak Trading Support – Shopping Self Scan Devices

Centrex always step up service resource and stock holding for peak trading at such times as Christmas, always going above and beyond to ensure our retail and hospitality customers are not without their equipment when most needed. .

During the pandemic, it became obvious that the priority would be different in December 2020, with the key for supermarkets especially being self-scan shopping, and the removal of the need to queue at a checkout that it would offer.

Sadly these handsets and the cradles they sit in due to their nature and location have a quite high failure/damage rate.

Centrex worked with one nationwide supermarket and visited all relevant stores in a four week period to carry out a full preventative maintenance and repair program. This service was to ensure that every device was fully operational, without damage and importantly cleaned and ready for when peak trading began.

The benefits of the programme were noticed and benefited from due to the minimal amount of breakdowns experienced during the peak trading period.
